How you can help

Save dogs’ lives before it's too late.

The McDonough Rescue is a small independent rescue focused on saving dogs that are abandoned, neglected, or at risk in shelters. Every rescue depends on community support, and there are many ways you can help make a difference.

Donate

Rescuing dogs requires medical care, food, transportation, and supplies. Donations help cover vet bills, emergency care, and the day-to-day needs of the dogs currently in rescue.

Every donation helps give another dog a second chance.

The McDonough Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which means all donations are tax deductible.

Become a Foster

Fosters are what make rescue possible.

Providing a temporary home gives dogs a safe place to decompress while they wait for their forever families. The rescue provides guidance and support throughout the process.

If you are interested in fostering, you can apply below.

If You Can’t Adopt or Foster

Even if you cannot adopt or foster, you can still make a huge difference.

Sharing posts helps urgent dogs reach the right people. Donations and Amazon wish list items help cover medical care and supplies for the dogs currently in rescue.

Even something as simple as sharing a post can help save a life.

Adopt

Are you ready to provide a forever home? Complete our adoption application to start the process. We’ll ask about your lifestyle and pet experience so we can find the perfect match.

Help with Transport Needs

Transport volunteers make sure animals get where they need to go — vet appointments, foster homes, adoption events and more.

If you have a reliable vehicle and a little spare time, you can help keep our animals safe and on schedule.

We’ll add you to our transport list and reach out whenever a pup or kitty needs a ride.
